Dr. Lyle Pidzarko BSc, DDS

Attained BSc From University of Alberta as well as Doctor of Dental surgery DDS from the University of Alberta in Edmonton in 1990

Completed several levels of higher education in cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry, implant surgery and grafting, both conventional fixed orthodontics and Invisalign orthodontic certification, cosmetic dentistry and prosthodontics, rotary endodontics, computerized CEREC milled restorations and LASER dentistry from the World Clinical Laser Institute as well as Facial Aesthetics Certification involving Botox Cosmetics and Filler treatments.

Founded Ocean Dental and has been practicing and living in Burnaby since 1990.

For someone who enjoys helping people and who loves to work with his hands, dentistry is an ideal profession. “I really enjoy making a difference in people’s lives,” says Dr. Pidzarko. “It’s so rewarding to help the patient to get to their goal of comfort and confidence in their smile when we restore or enhance their teeth. It’s great when our patients leave here feeling good about their health and appearance.”

Away from dentistry, he enjoys golfing, playing hockey, squash, badminton, as well as travel and skiing and snowboarding with his wife and two sons. He has been active in the community coaching various levels of hockey, lacrosse, and baseball and is the team dentist for the Burnaby Express Junior A Hockey club.

Dr. Vern Beckie, DMD

Graduated from University of Saskatchewan, Doctor of Dental Medicine, in 1986 at the age of 22.

Moved to Metro Vancouver in 1987 and have practiced in several locations before settling at Ocean Dental in 1998.

Completed Several levels of advanced continuing education in cosmetic and restorative dentistry, orthodontics, root canal, Invisalign, computerized dentistry, CEREC, LASER dentistry.

What makes dentistry exciting for me is incorporating the latest technologies into daily practice. Every day I am looking for ways to make beautiful, natural looking dentistry more comfortable for our customers. Hearing people say “that was much easier than I anticipated” and “that’s so beautiful” are the compliments that keep me striving for continuous improvement.

I enjoy skiing, hockey, golf, yoga, gardening, and photography.

Happily married since 1991 and father of three school-aged girls. I have a large extended family that I am very close to. It gives me the opportunity to hear about the needs and concerns of all ages.

Dr. Andrew Ho

Dr. Andrew Ho grew up in the lower mainland and completed his Bachelor of Science here in Burnaby at Simon Fraser University. He then decided to obtain his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of Toronto. Upon graduation, he completed a General Practice Dental Residency at Toronto’s prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital. Through this program, he gained experience in performing complex restorations, crowns, dentures, extractions, root canals and gum surgeries. Furthermore, he is experienced in treating patients with complex medical conditions and handling dental emergencies. After the residency Dr. Ho worked in private practice and as a staff dentist at Mount Sinai Hospital. To be closer to friends and family he decided to move back to British Columbia.

I truly enjoy providing dentistry for my patients! At the end of the day, I feel content and happy that I have chosen this profession. I believe the majority of this satisfaction comes from making patients feel comfortable and exceeding their expectations. My patients describe me as gentle, caring and thorough. I focus on treating the whole patient and not just their teeth.

Some of my hobbies include: snowboarding, rollerblading, computers and sailing. I love to play basketball and enjoy traveling.
