Your Child's First Visit
At Ocean Dental, we offer a variety of pediatric dental care services for the children of Burnaby and we strive to make your kids feel comfortable during their visit. Our dedicated team will walk you through the process of introducing your children to the dentist. We'll teach them how to brush their teeth properly! We even have a children's play area in our office to help them feel right at home.

Your child’s dental visit may be covered by the Canada Dental Benefit (CDB).
During your child's appointment, we will show them:
- How to brush their teeth
- How to floss their teeth
- How often to brush and floss for a healthy smile
How often should children visit the dentist?
At Ocean Dental, we recommend that you bring your child to visit the dentist around the age of three, twice a year (just like you!) or more often, based on your child's oral health needs and our dentists' recommendations. We will do a thorough assessment of their overall oral health and do our best to help them get comfortable with our team.
Canada Dental Benefit for children under 12
Starting in December 2022, eligible families that do not have dental insurance can receive up to $650 per child to cover dental expenses, depending on household income. Eligible services include oral surgery and diagnostic, preventative, restorative, endodontic, periodontal, prosthodontic, and orthodontic services.*
